Progress Update (03/10/2003):  Physical work in the last several months has been slow, however, a major conceptual change has taken place.  Due to problems finding the necessary FI components in time, the MPI conversion has been abandoned in favour of a four barrel Holley conversion, with Edelbrock Performer intake, and GM HO (High Output) heads.  If I can find headers at a reasonable price, I will install those as well.

With the new direction in mind, I purchased a used carburetor and intake top, and have recently completed rebuilding the carb, and am still buying other parts.

Can this become ---------------------------------------------------- This??

Here will be chronicled my attempt to get some more juice from the lowly 2.8L 60 degree V6.  I'm starting with a brand new 2.8 short block, crate engine, and misc. FI parts from Harry's U-Pull-It.

Progress Update (11/23/2002):

Cam, timing sprockets, and chain installed.  Still working on getting an MPI Setup.

Priceless… How many people get to see their engine from this perspective??

BTW: For those of you that don't know, that is the piston, and  connecting rod from the bottom.

Here you see the timing chain installed (top), and you can sort of see the cam through the oiling holes (bottom).
