Story of The BeastThe Jag is a XK 140 MC OTS, #S810189 made in November of 1954, and delivered to Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles and sold to M.G. Walsh in January of 1955, we bought it in March of 2000. We sometimes refer to it as a XK-140 E because of some interesting E-type mods it had done in the early '70s. The biggest modification was the independent rear suspension from an E-Type. If you are not familiar with the traditional Jaguar IRS it is equipped with quad coil springs mounted on the shocks, with a very sturdy differential. It has all around e-type disc brakes, which have now been upgraded to the Classic Jaguar Wilwood system. It has a 3.8L XK-6 with 8:1 compression from a 1961 E-type, with 3 HD-8 Carburators. It also has E-type seats, and gauges. This work was apparently done in the early 70s and then the car was stored for about 25 years until the car was sold at an estate auction, the buyer then turned it over to WilsonMotorCo out of Washington MO who we bought it from. The body work was done by the same guy that did the work on the Corvette. I hope you enjoy reading about our attempt to build the finest handling XK 140 in the world. Restoration Update! (08/02/2003) Engine Page updated, picture of custom Hayward and Scott headers included. Also on the Interior Page, I have posted an initial picture of my new Dash by Predator Racing.
