E-type/Wilwood Disc Brake system.
One of the most often scorned aspects of the XK Jaguar was its drum brakes. For my 140 something a little different was needed. It already had E-type stock Dunlop 2 1/8" calipers up front with the 1 1/4" in the rear. The entire setup needed a rebuild, and I decided that instead of rebuid, why not upgrade. Enter the Classic Jaguar Wilwood kit. The Wilwoods are billet dynalite 4 piston calipers. I also replaced the stock front rotors with the Classic Jaguar/Powerstop cross drilled units. After some discussion on the E-type Jag-lovers.org mailing list, and with Dan at CJ, I decided also to swap the 2 1/8" into the rear. I had my front calipers rebuilt in SS by CJ. That greatly improved braking. More recently, I had my Dunlop bellows booster rebuilt by Booster Dewy in Portland Oregon. As you see in the pictures I decided to go with something a little different for the colour scheme. With the booster system hooked up, I'm now declaring the brake system complete (for now anyway!).
