Beswick Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, seated, (Model No. 3436). Beswick started making earthenware in Staffordshire, England, in 1936. The company is now part Royal Doulton Tableware, Ltd. Figurines of animals are still being made, but many molds are discontinued. This lovely piece, designed by Amanda Hughes-Lubeck, is 2 1/2" tall and has a gloss finish.
